I became a candidate in a public election for the first time on the 18th of January 2010, where I went on to contest the Pontypridd Town Council By-Election for the Pontypridd Town Ward, that, my first election being held on the 18th of February 2010. The good people of Pontypridd Town rewarded me with 30 votes.
On the 20th of April 2010 it was confirmed that I had been validly nominated to contest the Cardiff Central constituency in the General Election. My first parliamentary election on the 6th May 2010 resulted in the good people of Cardiff Central giving me 142 votes, elevating me into 8th place, 20 below the 7th place TUSC and 56 more than the independent Alun Mathias.
